Built between 1914 and 1922, the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens was constructed by James Deering. This stunning estate is now a National Historic Landmark. While you are there, you can explore the art- and antique-filled interiors of the museum. On the outside, take some time to enjoy the formal Italian gardens.
If you love the outdoors, make sure to visit Barnacle State Park. This park is the perfect spot to bird watch. As you walk through the park, you can stroll past the tropical hardwood hammock of trees, shrubs, and evergreens.
For a bit of exercise, grab a Citi Bike and set off to explore the tree-lined paths. You might even want to challenge yourself on the Commodore Trail as you pedal past centuries-old oak and banyan trees.
